Yeah, having that 1D Mk II out there and knowing that all my lenses will fit on it or a predecessor, and knowing that it will likely come down to the $1500-2000 level when the market fully matures, leaves me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I think the 1.3x would be a great size.

It is certainly tempting, or maybe the Mk III when it comes out in the $2k-$3k range :)

I bought the Sigma 12-24 for my 10D, mostly because my favorite lenses for 35mm are the 20mm and 24mm and the 12-24mm translates to a 19-38mm equivalent. I'll post some sample images later. So far, I like what I see. Now I need to get a 35mm camera to put it on.......

For a second camera, the Rebel Ti seems quite good. Bit limited in terms of control and external interfacing, but okay for occasional use.

I will check the Rebel Ti, but I was also considering a Elan 7, maybe used....

The Elan would no doubt be a lot more like your 10D than the rebel, in terms of control and features. I kinda wished I'd gotten something like that myself. The good thing about the Ti over earlier Rebels is it at least has a metal lens mount, and is pretty well priced for something I wasn't planning to use a whole lot.

I'm thinking Elan too, though I think you could probably find an EOS 3 fairly cheap as people upgrade to digital. That would be a camera to have, certainly.

I just ordered one from Adorama today...had a paying shoot and my 28 2.8 (widest i have) was just rediculously long. Newspaper photographer was also there with a 17-35 and a 1D and it essentially allowed him to get right in there in front. Need that myself, even if it's still not as wide. How are you enjoying it?

Lens seems really good - hasn't been suiting the types of shooting I've been doing since I got it though. (macro & portraits) haven't given me much opportunity to use it just yet, but I have some plans!
