I'm possibly going to get this one used. Anyone have any comments about their experiences with it? I would like a constant aperture of 2.8 like the Tamron or Sigma, but this is a pretty good deal for me right now. Also, it shares the same 67mm filter size as my 70-200mm f4 L.

I check reviews of this lens, some says it's very good, some saying it's only merely good. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the 3.5-4.5 aperture, is this just too slow?

Thanks

I have this lens, mainly because it shares filter sizes with my 70-200 and also is wider than the 28-x canon zooms.

The quality is okay. Not great, but okay. It is good enough for prints up to about 8x10s but really starts looking pretty nasty beyond that point. It is visibly a lot worse than some of the better lenses I have, particularly towards the edges, but it is my main 'travel' lens.
