A record was NOT kept. Tickets and reported posts are searchable just like forum threads, and one of the SC pulled a list of some of the issues within the last year to demonstrate that this is a continuing pattern. It was a private note to Leroy, but if he wants to showcase examples of his behavior in public, so be it. Something like a thread on buying vibrators isn't a rules violation per se, but posting it just two days after the owner of the site asks you to curb crude and offensive posts isn't doing yourself any favors. Writing retaliatory comments and abusive PMs to multiple members, after you've already been warned for such behavior, will earn a suspension all by itself. The sheer number of tickets and reported posts we get pretty much requires us to take some action. It has to stop. There's only so many times we're going to tell someone to knock it off before we knock him off. If Leroy waits out his suspension and comes back with a little more civility and respect for other members, great. If he leaves for good, also great. Either way, the disruptive behavior must end.

The fun-factor of DPC has just decreased for me by 33%.

If my math is correct, that leaves 2 other fun people on this site. Only 2?

or does your fun meter need alignment? ;-)

Poke at a hornet's nest long enough, and you WILL get stung.

I'm just as guilty as the next guy for stepping on someone's toes here and there and getting admonished for it.

SC has always maintained the epitome of courtesy and decorum when telling me to put a sock in it and behave myself.

I like Leroy and have exchanged messages here and there, but it doesn't surprise me either that he pushed the line a little too far.

This is not a democracy, it's a privately owned site and if the owners feel that someone is a disruption and/or instigates unrest, then a decision and action MUST be made to TRY and preserve equanimity.

Leroy knows this too......8>)

This will ALWAYS be unpopular in some perspectives.

I hope he comes back, but I also hope he doesn't feel the need to push the envelope quite so hard either.

Just my $0.02 US.....YMMV

I didn't keep up with everything Leroy did, so I can't make judgment calls on the SC's actions, but IMO Leroy was a valuable addition to the community and will be missed. He was not just good for laughs (at which he was excellent at) but gave as much good advise, especially to beginners, as just about anyone else.

I also donĂ¢€™t think enough attention has been drawn to members of the skin police who attack many nudes and semi-nudes without apparent consequences.

Those are the people that aren't naked when they take off all of their clothes.

Attention is drawn to these comments by reporting them. If they're not reported how can they be dealt with?

I think he's pointing to reporting them and nothing being done about it, "without apparent consequences". Since I don't shoot nudes (except my SPs) I wouldn't know anything about this.

Unlike some people, I'm not going to pontificate an opinion about something I don't have enough information on (at least not today), however I will say that SC's message to Leroy was hilarious. Damn I miss him already.

I'm not going to pontificate an opinion about something I don't care about.

"As far as bending the rules is concerned, some feel that the likely outcome is generally better than the status quo. When one is placed in a position of feeling he has nothing to lose, one tends to be a bit braver about challenging the system.

Don't bindly believe what you read on the letter (however hilarious it may be). Follow the links, read the threads, make your own decision on not only the actions, but the motives behind the actions.

With that, I bid you all goodbye and wish you the best of luck. And remember, love your art, not your scores.

Leroy"

edited for spelling!

I belive that SC who are not paid and do this on their own time, have been pretty proffesional about the whole thing. They have spent a lot of their free time away from their families, their lives, being able to go out and shoot, to sort this stuff out. I am sure this took a lot of man hours. So thank you guys for taking time out of your lives to do a job that sometimes has no pleasure.

Ditto.

Langdon and the SC took the only action open to them after so many infractions and deliberate push push pushing.

However, agreeing with the action taken doesn't stop me feeling sad for Leroy that he wasn't able / willing to stop pushing past the boundaries and that this has resulted in his being banned for 6 months. And I'm sad too that the community now loses out on the many positive contributions Leroy also makes.

Some things we can all take away are:

1. DPC doesn't care that you can't buy vibrators in Alabama. (I believe that now, much to the relief of frustrated Alabama women, that law has been repealed.)

2. The likelihood of a Girls Kissing Girls challenge any time in the near future is very low.

3. I don't know what the extra star is for in F*uck

4. Talking about crutches is baiting.

5. We aren't going to get to emulate bodyscapes any time soon either. No competition in the nude macro stakes for him.

And suggesting a Nude Macro challenge is funny!! I can't believe that is even in the list of offenses. It definitely devalues the SC argument by having that and the vibrator comments in there and reduces your credibility on this.

I'm not defending Leroy but at least give realistic and valid reasons rather than anything that has crossed the SC's mailing list regarding Leroy in the past x years...

Again, as has been stated before. Both of these were done a very short time after the owner of the site asked him to lay off. It wasn't so much what he said, but his blatant disregard for the one true authority of the site -- Langdon.
