The former 164th place shot has been DQ'd for an artwork violation; the only real effect this has on the challenge calculations is that the last place finisher moves from 165 to 164...

I thought announcements were only made when 1st through 5th places were affected. Has there been a change in this policy?

They might be more noticeable when a top 5 is involved but I am fairly certain that an announcement is made any time a challenge's results are recalculated.

I've generally posted them for most post-challenges, personally. I thought this one was somewhat interesting given the irony that it didn't affect the outcome. I'm not sure if there's a steadfast policy on when to post these, frankly. I don't see what it hurts to post them for non-top finishers, particularly for those who are stats-freaks.

Looking back at similar threads, yes, they are generally aimed at top finishers.

OK, because several months ago it seemed that announcements were stopped unless it was for 1st through 5th places. I emailed SC and asked about it and was told something along the lines that if it didn't affect the ribbon winners or honorable mentions, it would not be announced because it lead to arguments about the DQ'ed images and it gave the DQ'ed images more "air time" than they should get.

This is just what I recall from memory, I don't know who on SC told me that or if it was in so many words, but that is what I recall.
