Can y'all take a look at a album gallery on my site.
I am considering moving from coppermine to jalbum/fotoplayer to handle my event and user preview galleries (more than 25K images)

I have gotten limited feedback that the trial site is slow

I would like to get a wider sampling of opinion

here is the link

Thanks

Dave

The photos never actually loaded for me! I gave it the time that most consumers probably would (and then some) and nothing came up- for that reason alone, I see need for a change.

on the top left there is a menu item that says Kismet Dance that expands to 2 sub galleries
Try opening one of those

It just sits there, nothing loads. Very bad for business.

Is there anything in the gallery called 'PhotoGallery'? If not then it shouldn't be there.

For the other galleries, the first picture had to actually be selected before anything would show even though the band of thumbnails shows at the bottom of the screen.

Before I realized that I just thought it was really slow.

The photos were not loading very quickly. I have broadband. That's not the issue.

Clicking the links did bring up your galleries, but honestly, if I stumbled into a site like this, I'd leave. I detest web pages that try to act like fancy applications. Too distracting, unpredictable, and just not fun to browse. No offense intended, just offering honest feedback.

And that is exactly what I need honest feedback ...
This gallery is not linked from my current site at this time ... I am just kinda testing it out ...
I do really like the ordering system with it but I am not sure I like the flow.

Coppermine is old and not really all that workflow friendly but it is easy for the customers ...

I have dial up. . ..

First 20 seconds or so, nothing
Then the little count up bar or whatever it is called

Then, some stuff (two links on the left, a box on the right, some "buttons" at the bottom appeared)

Clicked the two links (photo gallery, kismet) nothing happened

Clicked "view gallery" -- nothing for 5 or 10 seconds, then the little progress bar, again, while thumb boxes starting loading across the bottom. After three or four minutes, I had to move on. :/

Would it be possible to have some text or *something* to look at while the images load?

It worked very quickly for me. Once I clicked on an album it was almost instantaneous.

I just don't care for the album links being so inconspicious on an otherwise empty page. At first I was watching the blank, waiting for something to happen, then noticed the albums. Didn't take long to see them, but long enough to confuzzle me :)
Is this how the final will look?

I along with some others as it sounds had the same experience. I opened the page and it took a minute and some clicking around to get my bearings and actually get into the gallery. The pictures did not load REAL slow, but not REAL fast either.

I dont like it. The UI is confusing, unintuitive, and the photos load very slowly.

I found that the photos and the site loaded pretty quickly, although I think somebody mentioned already about the beginning showing an empty box which is a bit rough. Also, I clicked a button by accident trying to get back to the beginning and wound up downloading one of the image files - did you mean for that to be happening?
