What is an avg # of shutter clicks??
Does a camera wear out after a certain #?
If buying a used camera what can you tell from the #??
for example a year old camera has 10,000 clicks, but a six month old has 21,000? would there really be any difference?
Thanks!!

Shutters in DSLR's have a rating which is like an MTBF number.
Most entry level cameras use shutters rated at 50K actuations. This doesn't mean they will fail at 50K +1, nor does it gaurantee they will make it to 50K but is more representative of what usage you will get under normal conditions.
The shutters in most enthusiast bodies are rated at 100K actuations and the top end bodies are rated at 250K or more.
