We went to the Buffalo Auto Show yesterday, and I brought along my camera (of course!). I wanted to travel light, so I only brought 1 lens--my 24-105. I should have brought my 17-40 instead, as there were so many people walking around, I couldn't get wide enough to get all the car in the shot without backing up, which let people in front of me. I'll say one thing though, when you carry a Canon 5D with a battery grip and a 24-105 lens, you sure get some looks! Anyway, the lighting wasn't that bright, so most of these were taken with ISO 800 or 1000. The 5D really shines at high ISO, and even though there is definitely some noise when the images are viewed full-size, when you reduce them for the web, the noise is pretty much gone. MUCH better than my Rebel XT, although I've gotten decent high-ISO shots with it too. Anyway, here are some shots from the show, with more on the way. Enjoy!

You might of seen my thread or not lol Manic edited my post which had 404 thumbs. Looks good. I shot Motortrend in baltimore with two point and shoots. The fuji shot in raw.

Shots look good im sure its just a sampling. The low light at shows is horrible and im sure your 5D's flash is good enough to use in comparison to theirs no point in using my flash. I bet it was just like at baltimore hard to get any good shots of the Camaro because people were crouding around it. I got quite a few just in case but getting the broadside was hard got two chances one came out okay.

Talking about getting looks with an SLR and a Lens. Theres always a few shutter bugs there and it makes me jealous. The rest of the moronic drones with cell phone cameras in my way!

Was the challenger there? It was scheduled to be in baltimore but it was pulled out.

Nice. Looks almost as good as my D3 at 3200 ISO.

Hey now, them's fightin' words! :)

RainMotorsports--I didn't bring a flash with me at all. I wanted to travel as light as I could, so I just cranked the ISO and dealt with the light that I had. I didn't see the challenger, and in fact I was a little aggravated that this was the Camaro on display. They advertised the Transformer Bumblebee Camaro, so I was hoping for that color. But overall, it was still a good show. If I ever do it again, though, it's wide angle all the way.

The problem with the transformers Camaro was it wasnt a real camaro. It was actually created by GM out of stripped down GTO's they molded fiberglass panels to look like the camaro concept car. From what I hear they were actually quite bad to drive. AT the time of filming there were only two concept cars and only one of them ran... so using them for the movie would have been bad.
