| Just got delivered this evening. Gotta say, this thing feels nice. Compared to my kit Nikon 18-70mm this feels sturdier. The hood does not rattle like the Nikon, single barrel extension is much smoother than the Nikon. I've heard some people complain about the AF being slow and or noisy. So far just playing with it inside it seems to focus fast enough. As for the noise, can barely her anything. Can't wait to get it out and start shooting. |

I got mine a few months ago, I love it. I never thought of focus noise to be an issue with any lens, some are just really quiet. Unless I was shooting incognito street stuff in a perfectly quiet building it makes no difference IMO. Enjoy, it is very sharp lens!
Except I think you mean 17-50 not 17-55. :) |

Because as nice as the lens is, we really wish we had the Nikon 17-55 f/2.8. :P |

It would look really nice on my D3. ;)
Right next to my winning lottery ticket. |
