Interesting, that. How about this from a less left-leaning site, one that includes this quote from Mark Shields ( mind you this was at the 100-day mark, not yesterday ):

"I think he is doing fine. I think that we compare presidents to their predecessors. That's what George W. Bush has going for him more than anything else."

Well, I did take a walk on the wild side, and while I can't say it was wild, I can say it was Mild. I went to the White House web site and it gave very little specifics as to how these goals were to be acheieved. Bush talks the talk but is he going to walk the walk? Highly doubt it? He can say what he wants to in an election year, but why didn't he tackle these issues head on when he first came into office? Instead, what they did, was have Dick Cheney meet secretly with oil, gas and nuclear companies and came up with a controvertial National Energy Plan. If they were for improving the environment, why weren't those meetings made public so that we would know who was at those meetings and what was discussed? Maybe we should rename this program Clear Skies and More Lies...

Care to take a walk on the wild side? Here's the Bush Administration's Environmental Propaganda. It actually maintains the the Bush Administration is actually trying to HELP the environment instead of destroying it. Here's an excerpt on the Clear Skies initiative:
"Today in remarks in the East Garden, President Bush called on Congress to pass Clear Skies legislation to expand the Acid Rain Program, the Clean Air Act's most successful program to cut air pollution.

1) Clear Skies mandates a 70 percent cut in air pollution from power plants over the next 15 years including the first-ever national cap on mercury emissions.
2) Clear Skies would help cities and counties across America meet the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) stringent new health-based air quality standards for ozone and fine particles.
3) Clear Skies will improve air quality using a proven, market-based approach that will reach the Nation's air quality goals while keeping energy affordable for American consumers and businesses.

Clear Skies Dramatically and Steadily Cuts Power Plant Emissions

1) Cuts sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions by 73 percent, from current emissions of 11 million tons to a cap of 4.5 million tons in 2010, and to 3 million tons in 2018.
2) Cuts emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 67 percent, from current emissions of 5 million tons to a cap of 2.1 million tons in 2008, and to 1.7 million tons in 2018.
3) Cuts mercury (Hg) emissions by 69 percent - the first-ever national cap on mercury emissions. Emissions will be cut from current emissions of 48 tons to a cap of 26 tons in 2010, and to 15 tons in 2018."

There's more. Go ahead, it won't hurt for long:

I did some more research into the President's clean air initiatives. First of all, while caps sound very good, how are they going to acheive them? Who will be monitoring the output of pollutants by the utilities, and what kind of penalties will there be for violators?

Secondly, trading of credits has come under alot of criticism by environemtalists.

Thirdly, this has to get through legislation in the House and Senate and will certainly come under alot of resistance by congress persons who's constituencies would be effected by this legislation. I know that diesel fuel refineries have fought long and hard to make changes to their gas so that it would be less polluting. So this can be put forward in an election year, and make the president sound good but it all means nothing now since it's not in law now. They should have started much earlier.

Forthly, what kind of new technologies is the president talking about? I did not see anywhere in the article on his clean air initiatives him mention anything about solar or wind technologies. I know here on Long Island, our utility company has already made financial commitment to installing wind mills into the grid in just a few years. Not the 15 that the president is talking about.

Is the president talking about nuclear power? If so, he will get staunch oppostion from many groups in this country because they really haven't solved what to do with nuclear waste. Their answer is to dump it in N. Mexico at Yuca Mountain, but the people there are against that and experts are saying that the cannisters that the waste will be installed in could still leak out.

Well,
First of all, the WHO, HOW, and WHAT will be determined by the congress ( call this the legislation of Bush's proposals - something that Bush can INFLUENCE but not DO ).

Secondly, you're right. Trading of credits has come under a lot of criticism by environemtalists ( call this opposition to Bush's proposals, something he can DO nothing about ).

Thirdly, you're right again. This has to get through legislation in the House and Senate and will certainly come under alot of resistance by congress persons who's constituencies would be effected by this legislation ( again, something Bush can INFLUENCE but not DO ).

Forthly, the President is proposing ( and I quote from THIS ARTICLE ) "$150 million for the Freedom Car Initiative, which will advance the prospect of breakthrough zero-emission fuel cell technologies, $4.6 billion over the next five years in clean energy tax incentives to encourage purchases of hybrid and fuel cell vehicles, to promote residential solar energy, and to reward investments in wind, solar and biomass energy production" to name a few. And yes, he did mention Nuclear power, and you are right again, there will be, and is, opposition for the very reasons you indicate - and they are serious concerns, without a doubt, and rightly so.

For What It's Worth

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA ) released this report that says, in part:

"The contiguous United States experienced its 16th coolest summer (June-August) on record and seventh coolest August, according to scientists at NOAA Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C."

So much for global warming.

I expect to hear from those who support the Global-Warming-is-Man's-fault myth to claim that NOAA is part of a vast Right-wing conspiracy.

You sound like a republican, miss quoting me like that!
Here's the ORIGINAL quote from my bio!

"I'm a photographer. I have 3 children, I'm happily married, and I'm a total photo/camera dork. I worked in a photo lab for 4+ years, and for a newspaper for 3+ years. Now I shoot weddings to feed the family and pay the bills. Wedding photography is not my true passion, but hey, gotta work right?

I've just joined and most of my photos in the past have been taken with transparency/neg film so It might be awhile till I post more portfolio photos."

HAHAHA, who's the dork now?

HAHAHA, who's the dork now?

Why ask me? I merely posted excerpts from your bio.

But, just out of curiosity, who do YOU think would be dorkier,

a) someone who posts photos with NO political content in a politically oriented thread, just to disrupt the discussion?

or

b) someone who deliberately posts political opinion in a photography related thread, just to force it to be moved to the RANT forum?

to answer your question,

someone who posts political opinions on a photography dedicated website.

P.S.
Cut out the personal attacks. Your acting like the people you defend. And if your gonna quote someone, don't mis-quote them.

Then perhaps I AM the dork, now. Only time, and inclination will tell.
