Editing:
Here is my attempt at retouching using some old and NEW techniques for me.
ALOT of cloning/healing, minor sharpening, minor levels, dodge/burn, and painting with a custom skin brush.

I wanted to edge the line of her skin looking flawless but still having a hint of flaws (if that makes sense)...this is a crop of a larger photo and is nothing but an outake that I chose to practice on...

What do you think?

Looks nice. Believable, yet very professional.

But then again, she looked pretty good to start with.

It looks good and very comparable to stuff I see in mags. I'd have to disagree with a couple of the commenters though. Since there isn't much skin detail left (by design of course) it's much like the plastic look/style just minus a strong shine.

ETA: Mind you I'm on a 1600x1200 monitor resolution and these aren't large files.

Looks very magazine-professional (well done). Great job on the eyes - that's normally what turns me off in this type of post-processing. A lot of people (including professionals) overkill the eye treatment.
Dude - IMO you really need to start putting your Before & After shots in the right order...

ps. where the heck are you finding your models? That's the 2nd Covergirl in as many days! :O)

I can see what you are saying about losing skin detail... but the low res version posted here doesn't actually show the detail that is there in the large version... the skin brush I use actually replaces/covers "bad" skin with "good" skin... I will post a full res. version here in a sec in a link.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I am still working on improving this a bit if I can :)

Here is a link to the full size version side by side...

*I made some very slight changes in the full size version as well before putting it up...
Interesting to see the image pulled up in photobucket and here on DPC, photobucket appears to add a pink/red cast over the image.

My personal opinion is that you did a very good job of touching it up without succumbing to the temptation of being "heavy handed".

I think it looks very professional without looking plastic.
