I am interested in high quality photo editing software. I was looking to spend about one hundred dollars. It was very important for my son, that it have a lot of features such as warp (The tool that sort of stretches things, so for example u could makes someone nose very long) IF you have any input on this topic please lend your insight.... |

In that price range you won't find much that improves on either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop Elements - both of which should cost you less than the $100, both of which are absolutely what you're looking for.

There is always GIMP (www.gimp.org). At a price of $0 it is a very good value. And it doesn't require expensive software to run on (such as ms-windows). |

Does Gimp run under MS Windows as well, or just with Linux?

PS Elements is on sale at Costco this week. I think it ends up $40 after rebates. (One instant, one mail-in).

GIMP does run on Windows, but if you want the latest version (1.3.x), you'll have to install GTK2 for Windows first, which is available for download on the same site that offers GIMP 1.3. Don't be afraid of the "Unstable" tag. GIMP 1.3 has been quite usable for almost a year now. |
