I love all the different options we have to go with this feature!!!
However, is it normal that it doesn't show any confirmation as to which number I actually hit?
On my screen, there is no change at all..... no box around it, no color change... if I am looking at the screen instead of my fingers, how will I know I really voted what I had intended to vote? |

The 0 being 10 could cause some confusion.
Maybe to help, the numbers on the page in the voting scale could be modified so that the 10 looks like 10 or 1(0) or something, to signify that 0 means 10 and not, like Leroy said, a low vote? |

Making the world easier for idiots just increases the chance of them breeding. |

way to distract us from the new ruleset and the nearly 10% of images Dq'ed in the first day in the first challenge run under said new rules. We really like shiny new objects. :D |

This is an interesting comment, and I thought I would bring it up again to see if anyone has an answer for it?

I set my preferences to "Single Tap with Enter", and that will highlight (puts a dashed box around the number selected) before casting the vote using the Enter key. Works for me using Firefox on Linux.
(Langdon - excellent feature addition! Long overdue! Thank you.) |

I guess we have to stop the greesemonkey extension that does that now ;-) |

Thanks Langdon. This will certainly help quite a bit.
However, when do we get the ability to remove a vote?? Often, I'll accidentally vote on an image, but didn't mean to. I then want to remove my vote--not change it, but remove it.
May I suggest this as a future feature? Please put this on the ToDo/Wish list.
Thanks again!

Not good enough damned... You can't change the subject with this "Keyboard voting" thing. You think I forgot... we forgot?
We want our DPC shirts, and DPC mugs... priority #1 man :P |

Yep! For me, I often had the same image come up again after I voted. Taking the Greasemonkey script out made things work better!
Thanks Langdon (and crew)! I do believe there will be more voting now... at least alot more than just the 20% to count! In fact I just voted on all of Fire III where I generally only get 20-50% done at a sitting.
I love this place!!!

I doubt that's technically possible, unless you know of a way to detect whether a particular image has loaded in the client's browser?
From a technical standpoint, the keyboard voting script does nothing more than simulate mouse clicks. That is, if you vote a 7 with the keyboard, the script tells your browser that you clicked on 7.

That was a bug caused by the changes to the voting page. =) I fixed it, but the fix was only useful for a couple days.

It is technically possible using the onload event:
onload="enablevote()" src="...">
Just causing problems. =)

This is a nice feature. I am using the numeric keypad with the "enter" key as confirmation. This works quite well.
One minor suggestion / request.
I like to take a first pass and put the entries in an average, below average, or above average bucket, then go back and break them out further, using more of the 1-10 scale. The new feature works for this, but you have to re-enter the vote if you don't want to change it. It would be nice if using the enter key by itself would retain your earlier vote. |
