Now when I comment on a image when I put a number in that comment it cast that as my vote. I have went back and cut off keyboard voting but it still does the same thing. I can no longer put numbers in with my comments. I ahve tried everything. Even as far as rebooting my computer but it still cast a vote when I type a number.

Change the settings to use the CTRL+NUMBER.

Rex,
I suggest that you open an "Administrative Inquiry" ticket on this. Langdon will have to take a look at the code.

I have tried every setting CTRL+NUMBER, NUMBER+ENTER, Double Tap and no matter what it is set at when I go to comment on a persons photo and type in a numeral is gives it that vote.

LeeD that is funny it will make my comment look longer.

If you type just a number it will record it as a vote. If you type a "letter" character first, you will be "diverted" to the text-entry box, and any numbers you type then should appear as text in your comment. If you then hit TAB, you can then type a number to record your vote.

Nope when I start typing with words then a number it put the letters I type in the comment box then as soon as I hit the number to place it in the comment box it registers that as my vote.

I have opened an admin ticket about the incident as lkirbic suggested.

Weird -- I was just able to type a comment and then enter a number in the text field with either the top row or the keypad numbers. You could always write out the number -- "ten" is not that long a word ... ;-)

Totally true. But what of the people who might not read this thread and know to do it?

Rex,

Do you still have smurfguy's keyboard voting DPCMod installed? If so, you need to remove it to use the built-in version.

I believe we had a report of the same symptoms previously, and that was the fix.

Uh, ignore that if it's only happening to one person.

Ok I will post a public apology to SouthCoastOr3gon Also I will never vote with the keyboard again. All my post above began with this photo. I was trying to leave a comment "One of my favorites. I love how dreamy it looks. 10 from me."

Well my vote registered as a "1"

I know for a fact I went back and clicked on "10" after posting here. I remember only because I went back and tried to ype the number in the comment box around 5 times and it kept voting on it as a "1" which caused my to post in here with the issue.

May I recommend that you change your keyboard voting preference from single tap to one of the hold alt or ctrl options? That way, you get the convenience of keyboard voting with the ability to type numbers in comments :o)

As I posted above I have tried changing it and it still does not fix the problem. Every time I go to type a number in the comment box it registers that as my vote. I have even tried turning it off and it still does the same thing.

Oops, my bad, didn't read far back enough in the thread. I presume you've tried the obvious things like clearing your browser cache and/or trying a different browser?

Yes even rebooted the computer which clears everything. I have a program that clears all temporary files when I reboot.

Rebooting the computer will not clear the IE browser cache.

If using IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Delete button (in the "Browsing History" section)...

I have a progam that clears the browser cache when the computer is rebooted and I use firefox. I also manually went in and cleared it as well just to make sure.

Rex, if you haven't done so already, you need to open an administrative ticket on this. Detail for Langdon how you have your keypad voting set up, what the symptoms are, and what you've tried to fix it.

Damn thing is still not working. When I go to leave a comment and if I type "1 of my favorites" it takes the vote as a 1.
