Newbie Question:
In this night shot, the street lights are reflected in the sky, is this something to do with the lens due to the inverse reflection?

And what can I do to prevent this happening again?
thanks in advance for your time.

Better call Ghostbusters.
:P
Actually this looks like a reflection from a UV filter or similar. Only way around it is to remove it during a shot like that. |

Do you have a filter on the lens, UV or such? Those will cause ghosting, try taking the filter off and see if you still have the ghosting. Trevor~
Damn I'm slow.

I'm just guessing, but I'd say it could be from the filter, if you have one on your lens. Though that's never hapened to me.

As others have posted, it's a "ghost image" from internal reflection either within the lens or from the back of a filter. If using a filter, definitely remove it. Some lenses are just bad this way, though, so you may still see some ghosting with particular lenses and very bright light sources. My bet is on filter, though. |

Looks like the UFO thing can be solved by removing the filters on all cameras......hmmm, all this time I thought ufo's were real.
I took some night shots recetly and had the same effect, I just figured it was the lense and never thought about removing the filter, thanks for the info!
