Congratulations to the ribbon winners!

Erik, did you enter any of the open challenges this week? I did not get a chance to do much last weekend, so maybe next week.

I'm in yellow. Had a pretty good abandoned entry, but pulled it for a lark. My entry would have been even better in one of the challenges right now, but oh well.

BTW, my yellow *might* finish above 5.

Budya, congrats on your 11th place clown and new addition to your top five. Way to go!!!

I had 2 shots for abandoned to choose from. On the advice of my boyfriend and two DPCers, I entered what I now believe to be the wrong one. Oh well, I did have an entry for yellow as well, but both of my abandoned shots mean something personal to me.

Sigh.

Thanks! It was a last minute entry and if it was not for this motivating side challenge/ competition, I would not have entered. :)

How am I supposed to compete in a portrait challenge to start off? I mean, a good-lookin' teenager against an geezer like me? Sheesh.

And now he's getting a bye this week. Durn whippersnapper. But I've got some good framing ideas. Maybe I'll shoot a framed scene of childhood without children just to cross him up.

And Jeni, just to drag the LoD into this, I was ooooonnnneee week late on my entry to go up against ya. ;)

You would have definitely kicked my butt this week! I am sitting at a 5.9 again and somehow I've lucked into round three. Go figure.

Can't wait to see which photo is yours. I am sending good vibes your way in hopes that awesome score stays awesome!

So how is everyone doing?
01/21/2008 01:51:15 PM · #165
I am finding myself in a little dilemma. I have two (related) photos that I could use for Childhood, one is very DPC friendly and the other is one that I care about deeply. Now, do I stay true to myself and enter the one that will not fare so well with the voters, or do I enter one that is a sell out in my eyes?

I guess the answer comes down to how important is this little side challenge to me. How important is beating Karmat? Is the fear of public humiliation enough to make me sell out to myself? I do not have the answer to these questions yet, I am still pondering them in my mind.

I vote to stay true to yourself... There will be other opportunities to beat Karmat.

Congratulations to the winners. Remember we have the open challenges that were announced today as well as next weeks open challenges that will count for this month so don't give up if you're falling behind your competitor.

Johnna, I have some great news that I'll be sharing with you guys later on that has had me a bit distracted and unable to compete. I am working on some good ideas for this weeks challenge(s) and still have next week so don't get too cocky... I'm just biding my time! :-) Enjoy the lead while you have it.... you're going down!

I am in for Children, and absolutely NO ONE gets the subtleties of my photo. I thought it was not so subtle, but obviously I was wrong. Karmat, you probably got me this week.

Ryan, you'd best bring your top game this week - architecture's one of my strong suits. :)
