No, how they judged it was the top ten are shown first, then the runners up thumbnails are underneath. It was my hippo picture. If I count down and then left to right, I guess I came in 21st. There were 717 entries in that category, so I'm thrilled to have made runner up. They had 21 judges, who each picked their top ten (there's a link off to the right on the results page to view each judges' pick). I made it into several judges top tens. They have small cash prizes for the top 3 though and are running this again in March, so if anyone is interested, give it a try. Thanks everyone! |

Um, no opinion. Thought it'd be fun to try though :) I'd have fun shooting for it. And it would keep the forums busy for months afterwards, with people arguing about what should and shouldn't have won, and what is art, etc. So I think it'd be entertaining :p |

I need to start paying attention. I spent about 45 minutes playing with an "eyes" image tonight, went to upload, with the deadline of tonight and all. It rejects my upload; it's too big. It's 720 wide. But yeah, tonight's challenge is "earliest memory" (I don't have any of those), and eyes is Tuesday. Eyes is also basic, and I did painting in soft light layers, masks for sharpening, duplicate layers . . . Hmmmm. Need to look at this image again, methinks!
Oh well. I can always put it on my web page. :)

been busy the last few days with a new addition to the household...and for some odd reason my computer isn't letting me post the pic here...and I STILL don't know how to do a linky thing...

Not a good day. :(
My Step Father Harold had two strokes last night and is in ICU. (this is also  CWelch's Grandpa Harold.
The poor soul has not been well for a few years now (advanced Parkinson's) which has had quite a strain on my Mom as well. He is an extremely proud and wonderful man who is also a Korean war Vet. I dearly want him to make it, but just as important is for him to have some kind of quality of life. :(

Ernie, I really hope Harold pulls through...advanced Parkinson's is pretty tough on people, a client of mine looked after her dad who also had adv. Parkinson's for the last several years of his life.

That's tough about your stepfather, Ernie - hope his condition improves.
I'm in for Earliest Memory - anyone else? I've got a certain sense of doom about it - I like the shot, I was frankly surprised I even came up with one, much less pull it off the way I wanted to, but I think it will get stomped on. Possibly very, very hard. On the bright side, it looks like no matter what happens, I may be in the top 100. :) |

| i been busy this past month so i havnt been on much, i just uploaded one in earliest memory. It will get a lot of DMC's and will probably score a low 4. But its i one of my very first memories. Hope it take one for eyes if i can get some one to stand still long enough. |

I got nice comments from  GeneralE and Melethia, and a technique I used pissed off one guy so badly that he started a thread and whined about it!
And I just entered Advertisement III with a shot that I am THRILLED with that will probably tank, yet I'm positive you guys will love it!

| crap. I just did the same thing Bruce did....was all worried about getting my advertisement shot in for tonight at rollover...and it is not till tuesday. oh well. more time to change my mind and ruin the right shot... |

Just posted another pic of Luna and Druli in portfolio...as I said in her first pic Luna is basically 1/2 an Octopussy in terms of size...
and made literally an 11th hour entry for Earliest Memory...going beddy-byes now...zzz
