For those that are not following the Rooster vs Basssman thread, I have a year long head to head battle against Rooster which just started.

Here is what happened to me today: recieved some spam today in my inbox with the subject line "Rooster Challenged Men can now Improve Their Lives!"

I actually spit out my diet coke on the keyboard. I did not by any of the drug they were selling though...I think this Rooster Challenged man will be just fine. :)

Ernie lucky I'd swallowed my coffee before I read that or I would have had a soggy keyboard too. Rooster challenged, I love it!

Oh no! My dominance of my P&S camera page is coming to an end. I noticed there's another user now and she has an entry in a challenge. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. There will be at least one more from me that will be either last or second to last - that would be my Free Study entry.

I will add, and I think I've mentioned this before, that it's actually hard to use a P&S sometimes if one is used to a DSLR!

Oh, I'm sure you'll still DOMINATE the page, you just won't be exclusive any more.

I like having something to aspire to in that arena.....there are 31 owners of my lens, and though I have more images on the page, I have the 4th highest score. So I've got another goal......as if I needed more goals! LOL!!!

I have to agree with you, Deb, having repaired my daughter's Polaroid i832, and tried using it, a P&S is not easy to get a good shot from.....

What I find really amusing is that both our P&Ss have more megapixels than our DSLRs! LOL!!!

ETA: My Free Study is just going to torment me......that elusive 6.0 is just soooooooo close!!! LOL!!!

Ah, the joys of being nowhere near a 6. Don't have to sweat it at all. :-) But no one likes it, either. Sad about that part. I understand, but still kinda sad.

As for more megapixels on the P&S, I don't even use it at max megapixels. It may have more, but the quality of those megapixels is significantly lower (in my opinion) than on a DSLR sensor. When viewed at 100%, the pixels are considerably muddier. Has to do with the in-camera processing, and probably trying to jam too many pixels on a teensy sensor. Dunno for sure, them's just my theories.

I hit the 6 but it keeps going up and down. Hanging by a thread!

Seeing how the hubby said that I was back to normal, I was going out today and take some pictures. But no I woke up to snow falling and noway am I going outside to slip and fall which being the clutz that I am that would happen. So today will be inside on the couch being a sofa spud.

Smart woman, Rosemary! And if you do have to go out while it's still kinda slick, at least don't go anywhere near Jeffrey.... :-D

My mistake, Mary, I was doing the OOBIE for this week and wrapped up the YAPPIE too, forgetting I had put a "due date" in the ballot that was a couple days from now. I apologize if I left you out of the vote - I'll put you on the roster for next month's voters and make sure I remember whatever due date I set. :)

edit to say as a general point that it is quite common to not get a response to the ballots I send out, so usually after about a week I figure anyone who wanted to vote would have done so by then and declare the winner based on the votes I've collected up to that point. Sometimes I send out reminder PMs to see if I can get any more votes (especially when there's not enough for a clear winner), but I don't always have the time to do that. In the case of yospiff, I had a high response rate and it was unanimous, so I didn't think I needed to send out reminders. But again, I'm sorry, I should have sent you a reminder notice so you had a chance to vote.

I attribute it to the vastly superior optics in the DSLRs myself......8>)

Couch spud is good.....'specially if you're accident-prone.

BTW, take it from a pro......klutz is the spelling! LOL!!!

Stop changing your name.

So say I.

I've got a 5.3 in free study, 4.9 in contrast and 4.0 in fire. 7, 6 and 7 comments respectively. All the comments are pretty much on the money, what little there is of it.

Straight up, Bruce. You stick with your name and I'll stick with mine.

I think Why_Do_I_Do_This_To_Myself is the most appropriate name.

Evidently my FS is OOF -- much to my surprise. I definitely have to get some new glasses. Hey, if I act fast, I could do a self-portrait with my new spectacles.
