For the D200 owners...did yours come with a hot shoe cover? Did you buy one separate?

I don't recall their being one, but would have tossed it aside if there was... (Not trying to be rude - just don't see a need for one).

If you have an example of why its needed, please let me know? Thx

To cover it when not being used? That's what I thought the point of having one was...or am I wrong?

hehe - I've trudged mine for hours through pouring rain & never had a problem... seriously, are there issues that warrant a cover? Just seems it would be a pain, or get lost the first time it was removed, or...

I kept mine on my D80 for the 9 months I had it, except when using a flash. Anyways, I just wanted to know if something was missing from the box or not. If it's not part of the deal, not needed, then I'm cool.

Hi heavyj the D200 does not come with a hot shoe cover. I use mine all the time to keep crap out the contacts but I got it seperately and have kept it and now use it on the 5D

Cool. I'll pick one up tomorrow. OR...I might have one from my Fujifilm S9500...have to check.
