To delete an old profile to make a new one? I feel like everything about my style of work and myself has changed since I first began this profile years ago, and so was thinking of starting fresh.

Is that illegal?

Why not just delete all your old photographs and put new ones in your portfolio. Or, you could leave your old stuff and put in your new stuff to show how you have grown as a photographer in both skill and style.

I think we're talking about challenge entries... and no, they can't be removed.

Yes it is.

The bright side is that the progression of challenge entries clearly shows your improvement!

So if someone requested their account to be deleted then a few months or even a year later decided to return to DPChallenge they couldn't? or would they have to take back there old USER_ID#?

In that case, we would reactivate the old account for them. Accounts are actually never deleted, just disabled (and, when disabled, the profiles are visible only to Site Council).

In other words, we're stuck with the good, the bad, and the ugly... HAHAHA

I think I can live with that - even with the horrendous early entries (and the occasionally more recent ones). The permanent record does remind me of where I started - and how far I still have to go. But I do take some pride in the somewhat measured steps that I've taken in the last 3 years. And it can provide inspiration to certain newcomers. All in all, it's been a pretty cool ride for me.

=)
