I'm sure there's some high scores that will rise to the top when this is over. I gave out 17 7's or higher and my guess is that on some of those, many others will vote similarly.

| I agree with Lowcivicman... if your gonna give me a crap score, tell me why.. please... If I couldn't handle it, I would present my shots for a judged challenge. |

| I'm in AGONY!!! In the last hour before roll over i had doubts and thought about entering my alternate...i should have, I am getting KILLED on comments and scoring a 5.2.......people like the car but thats about it.....so depressing!!! |

if thats true i'll take it...but i am thinking the day a 5.2 gets into the top ten on this site pigs will fly.....i wonder if there is brand bias in the voting,you know like chevy guys/ford guys/lowcivic guys ;) |

I have all you know that I will vote any pic of a YUGO and instant 10, blurry, oof, over exposed, underexposed whatever b/c that car is my dream car. So I'm a little biased I guess:) |

Well Let them fly then. I seriously think that a 5.2 will be the 10th position. And Just because I like Honda doesn't mean that I will vote all the others down. Actually I entered an American car thinking that people would vote down for the foreign. Oh well I guess. I don't think there is anything I can do about the way people vote but I will say "what goes around, comes around".
I personally don't give anything lower than a 5 but in the eyes of others that would normally give out 1's, 2's,3's and 4's I am handing out 5's. From there a 6 is someone that went a little beyond the challenge, you know when SOME editing was involved. 7's are those that have very good sharpness and better editing skills. 8's are giving to those that actually tried to do something wonderful with the image and put planning into it along with sharpness, clarity, color, design and a little bit more. 9's are those images like Larus would put out but with 1 minor flaw. Then there is the PERFECT 10. Where you wouldn't change ANYTHING on the image what so ever. So even if one person thought that mine was an 8 and some one else thought it stunk at least we would all get 5's and averages would go up a lot more. 1's are images that you can't see clearly, lighting is completely wrong, Actually a 1 is where my unborn baby took my camera and starting shooting.
I just think that everyone needs to get their shit together and vote appropriately. Even if you have your own voting scale and vote out 4̢۪s and below... At least have the balls to let the person know what you didn't like about the image.
Now I̢۪m not just talking to 1 person I am talking to everyone and especially those that vote like trolls.
I actually think that anyone that gives out 4̢۪s and below should be monitored for cheating. If you give out a certain percentage of low scores you̢۪re account should be looked at closer. JMO

Almost 2 years absent and yet there is the still griping and moaning about how people vote.
This is a world wide site, you pay to be a member, but ANYONE can be a member, so you have a wide array of types of people who vote. If someone thinks my picture's a 1, so be it, I'm not going to force them to explain themselves just like I won't expect someone who gives it a 10 to explain themselves. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and really people, after all this is just an internet voting site for a photograph that you took... nothing world changing going on with a photograph of a car...

You're right and there are some BAD EYES out there.
And the world changing part... Well I know that if I get ribbons out the ying-yang I might have something there and actually start promoting and getting business as a photographer. Obviously If I was getting 1's and 2's and the brown I wouldn't want to go out and post my business all over town to have someone kill me over it, if you know what I mean. But if I was getting 8's and up I might have something to really work on. Get it?

Please don't base your desire to open your own photography business on what a bunch of people you don't know rate your photos on here. I have seen many people with skills we'd as a collective rate 5 or less have very successful photography careers. A lot of it has to do with how you work with people and capture the image your client wants. Join a local photography club and get some prints in their faces for their review. Talking one on one with another photographer about what your picture's strengths and weaknesses are will go a long way to improving your work.
