Why they keep them in zoo cages if they weren't wild? |

Well, because they're locked up. They're not free to do what they want.
In a sense, they're still wild animals, but they've been trapped.
They're not wild in the sense of something I would call wildlife.
They're kept in zoos so people can see them. And I think most animals in zoos aren't wild anyway. They breed them, and what not. I mean, what parents would take a child to a zoo to see a lion roaring at all the people, jumping around, scaring all the children?
But I don't like zoos. I don't like the fact that we take animals and keep them locked up. So I'm just a little biased on this.
PS- In case anyone is going to ask, I do have pets. All that I've saved from the pound, and given a home after being thrown on the street. |

Since you're critiquing our wildlife photos, how about posting some that you've taken which you consider to be wildlife? |

I didn't really critique any photos.
I also don't have any. |

Sorry, I'm having a bad/stange day.
My apologies. I should learn to keep my mouth shut when I don't agree with everyone else.

Naw, it's a great place :)
I'm actually with you about wildlife and zoos. That was my whole National Geopgraphic gripe also. An animal in a zoo is not NG fodder in my opinion. An animal in a zoo is not in the wild and is thus not wildlife and the whole manner in which one photographs wildlife in the wild and animals in a zoo is entirely different. Not that've done a whole lot of wildlife phottography beyond butterflies, toads and birds, mind you.
Anyway, I've only been here a few months and it's like any old crowd but by and large I find it very supportive and welcoming. If there's anything I can do, beep me.
