Well clawing its way up, comments are good, this is a very different shot, think some are getting it, which is what i want.

I don't think I'll do as well as the last challenge. My first comment shows the possibility of the voting level. I have 400 percent more comments and we are early in the voting. I entered on a whim and who knows what will happen.

Good luck to all of you.

I am at a total loss over this score

Under normal circomstances the subjects in this photo are totally unseen, having created a photo that they are seen, this response totally amazes me.

It would appear that voters are believing this photo is of a poster, 'OH THEY ARE SO WRONG' it genuine creativity to see the unseen.

PLEASE SOMEONE ASK FOR A VALIDATION..

Is it just me or the photos in this challenge are not particularly good? Some are ok but most of them are (rightly so) within the 4.xx range. I thought mine will do better than 4.8 but looking at it again I guess that's the right score.

I am still doing OK. Picked up a favorite. Definately an improvement over the last challenge I entered. I think all the action this week is over in the Self Portrait challenge. Some excellent work there. A bit more mixed on this one.

If the trend continues, this will take over 2nd place in my challenges. That isn't saying much but I am hopeful.

You guessed right, I haven't been scoring that well. It is fun to see what people like and don't like about an image. I am learning a lot and that is why I joined the site in the first place.

Well, I've been recovering a bit from that early beating.

This is the first challenge I've entered with my new D300. So at least I have conclusively proven that its the photog, not that camera, that matters. Haha.

Looks like you have an excellent chance of a Top Ten shot for that camera! Hehehe. I used to have the highest D80 shot but that was also because I was one of the first owners of it too!

What a downhill slide. From a 7 to a 5.4!
this site sucks.

Haha, I hadn't thought of that! Man, I should buy new cameras all the time. I'd be famous! I'm a genius, haha.

Looks like I'm hovering around the 4.4* range. Well, since I didn't have any preconceived expectations I'm not disappointed.

At approx. 100 votes, having recovered more than 2.0000 (two) full points from the score after the first 10 voters, I'm wondering what those early voters were seeing (or not seeing) (or smoking) to cause them to trash my image so severely. Anyway, I think a 2 point recovery from the early 10 voters' opinion is a record for me.

I understand the cultural differences involved here and the fact that this is an international site. Still, I think if some do not believe what they are seeing, they should ask for a verification before casting low votes.

My image is not one of my favorites, but it clearly meets the challenge. Just not sure what is going on in this challenge. I voted and found images to fill a normal distribution of scores, from 1 to 10.

Bruce Sprinsteins song seems fitting for the trend in my entry now. 'Going down, down, down, down' etc...... Don't like the limited commenting though.

@100 Well that is a long climb, did make it to 5.8xx but last 7-8 votes dropped it some, Still very happy and thanks for the comments, they are good. Don't think anyone knows what this unseen is!

It happens all the time, my theory is some people trash your image because its better than theirs!! By they way you some very nice images in you gallery.

Well, I've got to ask another elementary question. I see that you stated what the last vote score was for your submission. I know how to view my submissions voting summary but how do I see the individual votes?

Thanks for the help and patience.

It's because I'm a huge nerd. I've been using the Excel spreadsheet from HawkeyeLonewolf. It tracks your score, and calculates the average of your scores since your last update. And being me, I am checking and updating obsessively. (sp?)

Thanks, I'll know how to track it next challenge.

You can do it by hand too- multiply your averge by the number of votes cast and you get your total vote points. Refresh until you get another vote and multiply again (assuming you are a member- non-members don't get the refresh option). Subtract #1 from #2 and you know how many points you got from the last voter.

I think this is a tough one- both for voters and the shooters (us). If it is unseen, then how can the viewer be certain that it was captured properly? I think overall "wow" factor will be important. The more subtle or "unseen" the subject, the poorer the image may do.
