This is the only place I thought I could share this with others who would understand how important this was to get.
Now, I'm pretty new to calling photography a serious hobby, but I've certainly started down that path. In the past couple of months, I have been second-shooter at a couple of weddings (one of a friend of my wife; the second by word-of-mouth referal). I just got the following letter back from the bride from my first wedding shoot...
Please note that I am in no realm of the imagination posting this to brag -- I know full well I'm not worthy to hold a reflector for most of you guys on here, but this made me very proud and even got me a little weepy-eyed -- I had to share it with someone else who would understand why it was important to hear -- and you guys are they... them?... those?... you know what I mean.
Here's hoping we all get an email, letter or phone call like this some time.
Anyway, this is what it's all about for me -- I'll take one message like the one below over 100 ribbons any day. (But I sure do hope maybe I can pull off a ribbon one of these days...) :P

"Okay, it's settled... [groom] and I will be naming all of our children [after you]. These are PHENOMENAL and brought tears to my eyes! You will make money hand over fist as a professional photographer, Chuck; you have amazing skill and an eye for very artistic shots. If I had known you had such skills I would have hired you as my official photographer. Granted, it's wonderful having shots being made in two places at once - and you happened to capture more pictures of my family and family friends than our photographer did!
Okay, may we go ahead and place an order for 3 full sets (4x6) of all the pics? [I'll let the reader do the math there...]
[ . . . ]
You have NO idea how touched we both are to have these pictures, Chuck. You and Nicole [ my wife, friend of bride ] are both so dear to us and we are truly blessed to have you in our lives."

Now, that's some good stuff right there.
