I'll explain this as best I can:
A few times I've either swapped lenses or something or switched from shutter to manual and SUDDENLY the camera is trying to focus and take pictures. If it finds something to focus on it goes into multiple snaps...is my D80 haunted, or am I doing something stoopid?

I had my D-50 do that once a long time ago. Hasn't happened since and I didn't do anything to correct the problem.
But I suggest you check all the contacts and give them a cleaning if needed. |

It's a new Nikon feature. Doesn't it take a great picture when it does. Just flick the button on the left to turn it off.
