I think most of us work better in one or the other.
Myself, I think I work best with color. While I don't like the hyper-sat look, I love color and I tend to stay away from working in B&W. Perhaps it's a sign that I need to work on stronger (more interesting) compositions.
How about you?

I'm better in color, I've never been impressed with any of my BW conversions until recently.
Since I read Skin by Lee Varis I have a better understanding of BW and how they can help my images so I'm starting to get nicer results. |

BW is only way for me to hide my lack of talent. |

I think I am the worst looking person in this whole universe. and then we have this self portrait challenge. I think I am going to DNMC by entering hot chick. DNMC is not disqualification I guess. |

I love bw. I would rather do it than color, but I have been equally doing both lately. |

I don't think it's a question of working better in one or the other. I think it's more of a preference and a choice we make. Certain images lend themselves very nicely to black and white, and learning how to see that is something that just takes time. It also takes time to learn to convert different images to B/W to bring out the best in them.

You may be right. But some artists work exclusively in one or the other and seem to develop that as part of their style.

I much prefer B&W and monochromatic tones. Always have. Doesn't mean I work better in either, just my personal preference. My top ten in challenges by my vote are often devoid of significant color. |

I really like my B/W photos - got 3 entered at them moment and it seems like nobody else does. I respond much better to dark moody photos and usually thats a lot easier to achieve simply by getting rid of the colour.
have a look at my site favourites, hardly a cheerful image amongst them all. |
