I am *hoping* that they are done before christmas. But since we just go our order in, I dont know. I dont have an exact date. They just said 14 days minimum and up to 3 weeks. |

Rex, I am not sure.
I MAY have 1 calendar in hand by Thursday, but only because I have to drive over to Memphis for something else.
But Thursday night we have a Christmas party to go to, and Bill Clinton will be there, so I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I can snag 1 calendar to take with me.
Then I will do my TV interview as well.
And as they get done, I will try to start going over and getting them (its a 4 hr round trip) to get them out to everyone as soon as possible. |

Coming from working at an ad agency for 9 years I know what its like to have stuff printed esp at this time of year. we know that you are doing your best and that you are at the mercy of the printer and I personally think you have been and are doing a great job. If they cant get out till after xmas then so be it as you also have a family, life and job out side of this and if anyone has a problem with the delivery of the calendars you just send them my way sweety and Ill be more than happy to "discuss" this with them ;)
Two thumbs up and a big *hug* for ya :)

Sorry Rex there was no ill will intended for anyone, I just know how stressfull it can be to try to get a print job out esp when theres lots of people involved and you have your own life to deal with as well...
My intent was to just take a little stress off of that sweet woman ;)
Then again if someone did come down hard on her they would get it from me with both barrels :P

Just an update!
The calendars are rolling off the presses!! My step mom says they are beautiful and they are the talk of the factory there!
I will be in Chicago/Wisconsin until Tuesday, so I probably wont have access to DPC for a few days, but will update when I get back.
I am SOOOOO hoping that I can start picking these up towards the end of next week. |

Awesome! Why don't you let me know who ordered from my area. Maybe I can deliver to some people that I know (trying to help so you don't have to ship to so many different people).

Good news! The Calendars are all printed, they just need to be folded and stapled. I promised the ladies at the publishing co some chocolate and a case of beer if they could get them done for me by Thursday.. LOL
So my plan is to drive over to Memphis on friday morning and start mailing them out. I know thats cutting real close for Christmas, but maybe we will get lucky and the mail will be quick!
The drive for me is a 4 hour round trip, so if they arent done by thursday, then I wont be able to get them until after Christmas.
but they are the talk of the town in Memphis already. All the ladies that work at the publishers have been telling everyone and I have gotten lots of emails about them.
I really do think this is going to just snowball soon! |

Great news. Dont forget to get mine away with te first lot as they have a long way to travel. If I can get them into my shop in the next couple of weeks then I should be able to sell them immediately.
If we need more are we able to email you with another order? |

That's great and I'm so happy about the progress with the calendars hope to see them soon. Thank you for all that you have done for all of us.
Oh and I have contacted Canada post to get a refund for the cost of the Xpress post I sent you and they said that it was in the US in two days and the US postal service dropped the ball on it but they would still give me my money back.
I sent a Christmas card at the same time to some friends in California and they had it on the Monday (2 days) after I sent it at a cost of $0. 63 and it cost me $11.40 to send that to you and they said that it would arrive no later then 5 days. Our postal system is nuts.

Just to add to the story...
JoJo & I have been contacted by the largest paper in our area, and a very caring woman named Emily interviewed both us, and 'our' survivors. Apparently, they are doing a big write-up about it.
Yesterday my coworker & volunteer, Jackie, sent an email. She'd already planned to order a few prints from me, but now wanted to get the prints ASAP - it seems the newspaper wants to photograph HER, while she holds a copy of the photo. I was up really late last night, trying to choose the best local printer, uploading, etc. The order was to be ready by 11 am, but I got a call at 8 am, saying that they could not release the photo without a release - talk about an ego boost! (They said it was obviously taken by a pro; I bit my tongue & said 'thanks'!)
On my way out of the store, I realized that Jackie was still a customer & I should treat her appropriately. Instead of just handing over the cardboard pouch of pics, a detour through the gift section found a pink gift bag, pink ribbons, and pink tissue paper. A little help from the women @ the photo center made for a pretty package, and then a quick trip over to Starbucks!
Jackie was in her office, and several other women were visiting nearby. The Christmas spirit is in the air here, as they all talked about shopping & gifts... When I walked in, Jackie was coming out her door with office gift bags & nearly dropped them - I swear she looked like she was about to cry! Well, after lots of 'ooooohs' & 'aaawwwwws' from all the ladies, and two hugs from Jackie, yours truly left (blushing like a little boy LOL)
I'm proud to say that we have truly done a good thing everyone. Regardless of how well the calendar sales might do, WE have brought much comfort and joy to these women. I hope everyone involved feels even a TENTH as good as I do this morning! You have ALL worked hard & should be proud of yourselves.
Bless you, and Merry Christmas!!!
