Lots of great (and sick jokes) we go through in the ER. But you have to do it sometimes to get through things, lighten the mood. We have gotten in trouble before, because someone else overheard what is said and feels offended that a medical professional would say such things...but, to me they have no idea what has to be dealt with daily and how to compensate to be able to do this. We are al just human in the end.

That is terribly true.

I watched "School of Rock" tonight.
A good light-hearted movie and still an intelligent, even delicate, way of putting life in scope in a movie which is supposed to be just fun (and it is).

Funny but maybie not the right thread to be making jokes like this one.

Sorry, I guess it might have bothered some people, but this might be the only thread here where it might not be tasteless ... it was a direct response to Gordon's observation that DWI is still common in Texas. Humor is often the only way to make people actually look at the underlying issue ... they have to THINK about why something is funny, or maybe realize that it really isn't.

To further put it in context, you can buy single bottles of beer from gas stations. They are sold from buckets of ice beside the cash register...

And they will put it a nifty brown bag that fits the beer perfectly.

I believe Santa Clara County near here is considering lifting their ban on alcohol sales at gas stations ... which complain they are "losing too much [opportunity to make] money."
