I'm looking for a good robust P&S camera that is fairly dust-proof and is very good with battery effeciecy. But still has good quality to it.
I have a dSLR already for semi-professional shooting but I'm looking for something to take to foreign countries that is small and compact and doesn't draw attention to myself. :)
I have no idea where to begin looking for P&S cameras, there are TONS of them.
Any recommendations/suggestions? |

There are at least two other threads which discuss this active in the past week -- you might check them out for whatever suggestions have already been made. Some issues affecting your choice:
-how compact does it have to be
-what zoom range do you require
-do you want it water-proof/-resistant
-what kind of batteries/media do you want to use
-what video capability do you want |

The Nikon L series is nice, (I have an L6) but not much manual control available on these. You might like one of the Canon A series. I have heard a lot of good about them.
The new Canon SX100 looks like it has most of the features of my S5, but in a more compact P&S package. This one could be a good choice.

| I've got the Nikon L10. Been using it in the water side challenge (so you can check some images). It's cheap, but you might find something with better IQ. Uses AA, but you really need rechargeables, cause it eats the alkaline shamelessly. |
