Complicated ? not really. I think it's fairer for all involved personally. On a large challenge like the free study I am liable to do the voting over a few days, and different days catch you in different moods . .
If I put the pictures that catch my eye into about 3 different score groups that tags them and gives them a rough position - but for me the levelling is really important. I want to be comfortable that all the ones I say give a 6 to, can sit alongside each other technically and artistically.
I might still be wrong :- ) but at least it'll be consistent. If something looks too good for one group it goes up (and up) untill it sits in the right place. I very rarely move them downwards after the initial vote.

sorry guy's just for clarity - these comments about 'bad scores' what are we talking here ? 1's, 2's 3's ?
If someone says 'Brilliant ' and gives a 1, I can see where you are coming from - if they say 'Great' and give a 5 it gets a little cloudier for me.
Maybe they just use upbeat language . . ? |

If you suspect a certain 'person' just go check their profile stats .

If you suspect a certain 'person' send a note to SC why you think so. Its the best way to stop them.
troll hunting won't do anything in effecting your placing in a challenge, they hit everyone equally. They will only drive you nuts if you let them. Also thats what the scrubber is for, I have seen comments from people where they say DNMC 1! and look at the vote breakdown and they have no ones. Just my way of looking at it, although looking for trolls can be mildly entertaining sometimes, you could be spending that time shooting. :) |

Don' sweat it. If everything you did is on the up and up then you have nothing to worry about. The validation request came in only because someone couldn't figure out how you did something within the rules. |

When I went to bed last night I had 126 votes and an average of 5.8413. I wake up today and find that 3 votes have been removed. I am assuming that these people didn't meet the 20% requirement. Unfortunately these three votes averaged 8.3.
How come the low voters never seem to have a problem meeting the 20% requirement. Oh well, it's still closer to a 6 than I have ever been before! |
