Crop out the guy.

j/k! The first image is probably the one to go with, but maybe play with the levels a tad. Could use some more contrast, since the light was greyish.

I prefer the first shot and as David pointed out a little be more contrast to give it dimension.

Let's talk about the composition of the shot a bit...

IMHO...no beating around the bush, the shot is too centered and there is too much space at the top/sides of the shot (for the tight crop at the bottom). There is a lot of room and distractions in the shot that draw the viewer away from the couple. I'm guessing this is the full shot (no crop) as ultimately we would like to see more of the lower part scene and less of the trees and paths in the top portion of the shot.

Again Just my opinion.

I myself use center focal point only when I shoot and from time to time will forget to recompose after obtaining focus and end up with my focal point dead center and the subject low in the frame. It is easy to do.

I like the color shot the best. The composition almost works. It's odd and quirky, which could be fun. I feel that because the arm and finger were cut off, it doesn't work as well as it could. I like the background. It shows the couple in an environment and conveys a mood. Also it has some nice lines that lead off the couple to the bench and up the road. It does a good job.
I would crop on the left to get rid of the bench on that side and mask their faces to brighten them a little, then reverse the mask to darken the background a bit.

Just a quick 1 min rework.. Obviously if I had access to the original RAW/JPG, loads more would be possible.
