Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I thought I would add it to the list either way.
Currently if we want to offer more than one version of a print we have to upload it into our portfolio by however many times we want a different print, whether border/no border, color/black&white, 8x10/8x12, etc. I realise we can hide images in our portfolio so we dont have 5 versions of the same image cluttering it up but then that relies on the person seeing the 5 different versions in our storefront. It also uses up the 10mb space allocated. Because of this 'restriction' I believe a lot of people simply upload just one style print and leave it at that.
People have different tastes, they may want a border or not a border, they may want a particular size to fit a frame they just recently purchased. I'm sure a lot of people would like to offer different versions of the same print, especially if the alternative to the one they prefer would get them a sale.
My suggestion - allow multiple print file uploads (and a print thumbnail) from the one portfolio thumbnail. Combine all the different versions into the one print page - dropdown box of print sizes and perhaps a checkbox for color/black and white, and border/no border if they are available.
This gives the customer a better selection in a central location without the need to click on links (if the alternative happens to be a thumbnail at the bottom of the page), as well as encourages the photographer to supply different versions/print ratios that increase the number of photographs available and hopefully more money spent.
