I am about to load some prints up to DPCPRINTS.. and thought i should include a signature on my prints.. or for just other prints that i have in my gallery..
what sudjestions do you all have... a little name on the bottom right..or something.. or does that destory the image too much... ?

I am also interested in the best way to do this. I have inserted my name with PS... with canned fonts. But I also wonder if it takes away from the shot or not. |

dunno... I think if it is tastefully done & inserted so it does not take attention away then it is okay.

I have thought a bit about this too... I have been putting something like this on one of the bottom corners either in the border area or in an unobtrusive place:
Image Title © 2004 - John M. Setzler, Jr.
I do put this in a spot where it can be easily covered by a mat though. It would be possible to digitize your hand written signature and put it on the print though.
However, I would rather have an unsigned print in most cases than a print with a digitized signature on it..

I have been doing same as Setz. I have set it up in PS so that it is like a watermark, and is "almost invisible," when looking at the pic, but very visible if you are looking. Not sure if my older shots have it on them, but all my newer stuff

Almost all of my prints are bordered and "fully" titled, but I also try and locate all the type such that it can be conveniently covered (or trimmed). |
