I have not submitted to Kodak POTD for at least 6 months, but as testament that they actually do keep them around for consideration, I got a message yesterday that I was going to have the POTD for Thursday, 10-25.
Here's the photo:
I am thrilled since I only got POTD once before!
Can someone who will be in NYC this coming Thursday capture the big screen for me, please! |

Fantastic shot. I had a POD a while back and just tried to get a screen shot from one of the web cams in Times Square since I had no connections in the area. I think it was camera #3 here which pans back and forth. Since the POD image cycles too, it took maybe an hour and a half to capture a grainy screen shot of my image on it. In case nobody can help you. //www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/index.php?cam=lennon

Hey Nshapiro. Mine is going to be on Kodak's site on Oct. 24, But I am leaving on the 25th at something like 9am so I need to be at the airport by 6am or so. I will see if I can stay until midnight (which is only 10pm my normal time) and see if they change it straight up at 12am. |

Charles, if you're going to be there near midnight, that would be great. I think they do change over right then. I did PM Steve (Pawdrix) and he's not sure he'll be able to shoot. I'm waiting to hear back from Nikolai, as he's in the city too.
Oh, and congrat's to you!

i really really like the colors, but they kind of divide the picture in to two sections, a bright red and a darker blue. I wish there was a little more red in the city part, like maybe a couple of stop lights or anything red like the sky, you wouldn't need much, just a little here and there to balance it out. |

Hope you stick around to catch it at midnight Charles. I went to the Kodak site and I found it interesting that, as of tomorrow, there will be three DPCer POTD's in a row. Maybe more, depending on who is on the 26th! |

Congratulations Neil!
Hmmmm - wonder if the photo of your work, shown up on the big screen, would look good as a canvas! ;)

Thanks Nikolai for taking shots of it!
Here are two of my favorites that he took, mainly because it shows the shot in the Times Square context.
And here's a closeup that shows the image a bit better.
Thanks again Nick!
Charles, I'm covered, but I'm curious if you got any shots at night. |
