Good luck with the renting... I will certainly consider it if I needed something for a trial or rare use. |

Any future plans for including other manufacturers' lenses, such as Olympus 4/3rds? It's not just a Canik world out there :) |

SWEET Lens ... I have it out right now, so you'll have to wait. LOL! (but it's due to be sent back on Monday so get in line)
Just a few images from last night's photo shoot... these were all shot at f/1.2 (if it can do f/1.2, I have to try it, huh?!?): |
Did you add the vignetting to these, or is that natural with that lens ? They all look dark in the corners.

Yes, I did. The vignetting was adding via Lightroom.

One more picture, shot this evening with the 85mm 1.2L lens.
And a 100% crop to show you just how sharp this thing really is:
NOTE: This was shot at ISO 1000!!! I was in my studio and found that, at f/1.2, I could NOT turn my strobes down far enough to light the cat with the strobes. So instead, I used the modeling lamp in the strobes. I bumped the ISO up to 1000 just so that I'd be sure to stop the cat at 1/250th of a second.

so short answer is no, but by agreeing to rent the lens you are taking responsibility for the item and if something goes wrong need to be able to reimburse. |
Very trusting... If someone rents a lens and does not have room on their credit card (or if they are committing identity theft and are using a stolen credit card), you are giving them the option to keep your lens for a very small fee. I realize this is unethical, but there are some out there who might take advantage of your business model. I'm sure that would be the rare exception, not the rule, but look out!

They have 5 of the "big whites" out there already...
70-200 2.8L
70-200 4.0L
100-400 4.5-5.6L
300 4.0L
400 5.6L
I'd imagine if the business is successful they'll be able to afford to buy more and make them available, but that seems like a pretty good start.

Looks like a pretty good deal. You very well might have some business from me in the not too distant future.
ETA a suggestion: put your site name in the window title ( tag within the block) because otherwise it just shows up as, in my example, "Mozilla Firefox" ... and when I'm looking for your site amongst 10 tabs in my browser or taskbar, I'm likely to close ones that don't have a site name thinking I've left them at a nameless error page or something.
Small thing to worry about, but even smaller thing to fix.

Jmuggy,
Just a quick question--is the shipping charge already included in rental price? I added a lens to my cart, but the only chage that showed up was the rental charge. If shipping is included, I'm not sure why there is a shipping charge listed separately in the lens specfication table. |

the shipping charges get added once you enter your information before you confirm it and it gets sent to the merchant.
thanks for the feedback, ill try to get that adjusted.

We want to add 1 lens to each side of our rental inventory...
Which should it be? Try to keep it under $3K each.

Not sure what you mean by "each side of our rental inventory" (wide vs telephoto? canon vs nikon? name brand vs third party lens?)
One suggestion: There is a brand new super wide, the Canon 14mm 2.8L II that is coming out in November of this year. I wouldn't mind giving that one a try some time.
BTW, the 85mm 1.2L heads back to you today. I'll PM you when it's "in the mail".
THANKS!
David

It's over your budget, but I'd recommend the Nikon 200-400mm f/4. That's a lens that a lot of people would love to check out, and since it's so expensive, renting is the way to go. |

Nice site and selection of lenses. My only gripe is that the pages for the Canon equip were excruciatingly slow to load after the first page. Even after they were in the cache they were slow to show.
One thing I would like to see is all the lenses showing on the same page - even if it was only text with hot links to the more specific descriptions. It's a pain to have to switch pages, and if they were all listed in a single place it would be easier to see all that you have to tempt me with! |

Also... some "order" to the listing of lenses would be nice. Focal length order would probably make the most sense.
BTW, the 85mm 1.2L is "in the mail". Should be back to you on Wednesday.
THANKS AGAIN! :-)
