can i shoot in RAW and convert in Photoshop CS? If so, is it easy to do... anyone want to give me a quick step by step? |

after reading..... i gather that now i have to download something to photoshop CS, or am i able to do it already? Seems a little confusing to me. |

Yeah, you need to go to the Adobe site and download Camera Raw for CS. It was an add-on to CS. It is native in CS2+.

Be careful with version numbers. Certain versions of ACR support certain cameras. But in addition to this, later versions of ACR won't work with Photoshop CS.
So you need to make sure your camera is supported by the version of ACR, and you also need to make sure you can install that version of ACR on Photoshop CS. (Yeah, they've made it complicated... they like getting people to upgrade) |

I do my RAW conversion using Canon Digital Photo Pro, which comes with your camera, and then I bring into photoshop as a TIF file. I like the DPP conversion better than what I get with ACR.
