Saturday I had the opportunity to visit the LB Mustang Ranch in Myakka City, FL and it was an amazing experience. I have loved horses for as long as I can remember but have never really had an opportunity to photograph them.
I would see photos on DPC by photographers like loriprophoto and just dream about ever getting a chance to take such amazing pictures.
So when I had the chance on Saturday to visit the ranch I was way too excited. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. Larry Jones, the guy who owns and runs the ranch, is a wonderful older gentleman who wants to try to preserve the mustangs and in doing so, has purchased a herd of 50 horses from the BLM. He took me and my mom out in his truck into the pastures with the horses (as well as some burros from BLM and his 500 head of cattle) for about four hours to take all the photos I wanted. (My mom knows him through their church). He gets lots of people who come out to tour the ranch including many photographers and artists.

For anyone who wants to learn more about the ranch or about the history of mustangs - a link to his website can be found HERE

I also started a new gallery here on DPC with some of my better photos from the day. Would love to hear what anyone thinks....
Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them!

I thought this was gonna be whorehouse photos :-) "Mustang Ranch" is the most famous Nevada brothel.

Nice shots, angel!
