Now, if I could just refrain from submitting my post before I''m done I''d be all set. Anyway, comments are appreciated.

I really like the daisy shot. Not the usual angle, and none of the background distractions that I see in a lot of flower shots other places.

Thanks! I've taken more shots of that spire in the last few weeks... I had one I liked better because of the cloud formations, but when I was checking it before submitting it, I found the date wrong in my camera so it was dated last month. DOH!

trying again.....so these probably come under the label "kittens and puppies" but i''d still like your thoughts...

I think your outtakes are beautiful. I would be proud to post any one of them.

It''s a real couple who were sitting right
where I wanted to shoot from. In the end, knowing they weren''t going to move, and seeing what a great silhouette they made, I just moved back a bunch and added ''em to the image.

As to whether or not it''s a better pic than the one I submitted -- well, the one thing I''ve learned for sure on this site is: who knows? The quality on this one is better than the other (this was shot with a 5 MP work camera and my submission was shot with my .7 MP personal camera) but I wasn''t sure this pic was something that would speak to the audience here as much as what I ended up submitting.

This is a beautiful and moving picture. I really like it.

I love the third one. I hope you took the second one in color too. I think that would look great as a color photo. I think the first one would look better if there was no motion trail with the wings.

I wish I had some outtakes to post here, but trust me they really would have stunk up the place.

I submitted the one I did because unfortunately it was the best thing I could come up with this week. I know its not a perfect photograph, but I honestly belived that 2 things where very RIGHT about it. Comments are proving that I was wrong about even that....Getting so frustrated!!!!!!!

This site is great...
Posted my first pic for the current B&W contest and for it I selected a photo I took while partying down town. I stumbled in to a shaby bar and took some photos of the local crowd. They were geting ready to throw me out with my flash going of all the time ;)
I was not totaly sober at the time and I did not give the woman a cigarette and a drink for props. There for I think it would be apropriate to show ones story along with the photo just so people get the right impression from the it and don´t get the urge to send comments like this one ...

The lighting is not right for me, possibly due to the brightness behind the woman and on the front of the machine ...[].. The drink and cigarette props don''t add either. Lastly, I don''t like the guy in the background, or the angle.

I thought it was not appropriate to ask the guy behind the bar to move out of the way while I stole that shot...or wait, I didn´t even notice him while he was not serving me drinks...

Some times this site is a bit to professional ;)

A couple of hours later (have now had my morning coffee): Sorry, finnur, didn''t mean to sound too harsh. It''s just, a large part of the fun of this site is the anonymity of the voting. One thing to consider when you submit your photo (and that goes for everyone here) is, the voters don''t know the story behind the photo, it has to stand all by itself and will be judged accordingly. The voters also don''t have any emotional involvement with the subject of your photo that you may have. Hence, you are likely to get comments about "technical flaws" that you either don''t care about or that were techniques that you used deliberately that the voter didn''t recognize as deliberate (and I''m probably guilty of that many times over). It''s just the nature of this site. Don''t stop liking your photo because of it! And make sure to tell us your story behind it on Monday - I like going back and reading the stories and looking at the photo with different eyes! :)

7:30am
Can''t we just all wait til Monday to discuss our photos?
