OK, so I have this nice shot of my wife
(Or at least I think so) and she asked me if I could work with it and make it look more like Kate Beckinsale from Underworld.

I took a stab at it, but getting a Japanese persons black eyes to come out looking blue like that was just so hard. I wondered if anyone could teach me a way with CS2 (Other than re-shooting with contacts) that would produce a similar effect, or nicer blue eyes like that?

I copied and pasted the eyes from the Underworld image and used them in place. This is what I got...but I'm hoping there's a better way to do it, something that I can use legally in challenges.

I think you should ask Cindi ( idnic), she is great PPing the eyes. She has a tutorial and I remember she mentioned something sometime about using the color replacement tool. I will try and find the original post. |

Easy, perfectly legal in advanced:
First, duplicate the image as a layer,
Brighten the bottom image until the eyes show as much colour as you can get- I used curves until the eyes brightened to a light maroonish brown.
Adjust the hue of this brightened layer until you get the blue you want, or any colour for that matter. Ignore the rest of the image, it might look really weird but it's the eyes your focusing on.
Go back to the top unedited layer, and use a layer mask to paint in the eyes from the bottom layer. This gets a pretty realistic colour. Of course, if you wanted to go for that over saturated vampire look, you could just keep adjust the hue/saturation/brightness of the bottom layer. |
