Now I will tell you a true story about Daniel - age 10. I went to Yirol in South Sudan with one of the legendary Lost Boys of Sudan. t took four days from Kamapla, Uganda - maybe 300 miles? The roads are awful, you come around a bend and there is a pot hole with an 18 wheeler stuck in it. Yirol is maybe 200 miles from any electricty and phone service. It is very very poor by any standards.

So I was sitting in the shade of a hut talking to these boys who learned excellent English in their school under a tree. I had a journal with a map of SUdan and a map of the United States.

"Where is your village?" asks Daniel.
"Here, " I point, "where that little bit sticks out."
"What is you village called?"
I think a minute and then say "Massachusetts."
Daniel looks excited. "Oh, Massachusetts! Do you know John Kerry?"
SO, of course, I had to say "Yes, he is a good friend of mine." Thier villages are so small.

Bright enough kid to be aware of a politician from half way around the planet and be able to match the name to the state. Is John Kerry a good friend of yours?

The effort put in by all of the participants on PPC was pretty good I would say. I really enjoy watching what they are able to do with the challenges.

Anyone who is adept...or trying to be adept... at post processing should go to this site (Post Processing Challenge)and sign on. The site is similar to DPC in some ways and because of the challenge differences are better in other ways.

Interesting story about Daniel. I am very surprised his knowledge of our world over here. Sadly, I am 55 and am not very familiar with his country at all.

Thanks for sharing the work.

You've opened my eyes to some fun challenges that can be done even when I don't have time to shoot. I even took a moment to submit an image for a challenge. You've really gotten me out of my shell.

No, I met him once though. And we are from the same village.

Whole world full of dumbshits. Very few bright people. Happening across one even in the armpit of the planet, I would take the opportunity to add to what's there, not dumb it down with a fib. Just an unsolicited opinion.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I highly recommend anybody that wants to improve their post processing to try a challenge. You seem to always get constructive feedback on your efforts.

My take on Daniel
