Action but the story was predictable and boring. Liam Neeson slept through his part.

Gran Torino - clint eastwood..

well this movie made me cry at the end, his realationship with his son reminded me of the one I have with my dad. My dad's a Big Boss of a Big Mine and thinks I shoot porn for a living. hahaha Anyhow I would say 8/10

Star Trek 9/10

Really good story, cgi was great and the actors did a really good job. You dont need to be a trekkie to watch it at all.

Taken 7/10 - lots of action. I almost wanted to watch it again just to count how many guys Liam killed. Overall plot was good. Implausabilities were typical, so I'm a little immuned to them.

Quantum of Solace 6/10. ...maybe 6.5. It met my expectations.

I.O.U.S.A. (Documentary) - can't really rate this because it left me feeling we are screwed. So very very screwed. So I guess it did it's job.

Very well done. I would have liked it better had they succeeded.

Ahhhh! Thanks for ruining the ending!

hmm on dvd that last movie I saw was meet the parents which was quite funny a definite 4 out of 5. The last movie I saw in theaters, though, was the new star trek in Imax and it was a definite 4.5 out of 5. I'm not sure if it's as good as some people are claiming, but it is still a great movie.

"Taking Chance" 9/10 (-1 point for causing me to go through half a box of Kleenex)

The story of a Marine's last trip home (his first name is Chance) told by the escort officer who accompanied him. It's an HBO movie but available on DVD. The officer's after-action report ended up being passed around the internet and eventually he co-wrote the screenplay. It's very well done - I highly recommend it. At the very least, you will take away an incredible amount of awe and respect for some amazing heroes you never really hear about - the folks at Ramstein, and especially the folks at Dover.

The after action report is here.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 5/10 - Meh. Only slightly entertaining.

Defiance 4/10 - Had no beginning or end (except for caption screens). So it was like watching the middle of a movie. Weird. I will say that the story sounds amazing (Based on a true story).

we were set to go to see A Night at the Museum 2 tonight. But they didn't have a late showing so now we are home watching re-runs on tv... :(

The Uninvited
A mild horror/suspense remake of the Korean chiller A Tale of Two Sisters but worth watching (and re-watching) to the end!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - I'm not rating this one. It is exactly as I expected it would be. For some reason in the mood I was in, that left me completely emotionless about it. Maybe I was just brain-dead during the whole thing. Maybe I still am.

terminator salvation
had heard great things about if from friends so went in expecting it to be good, or at least better than the average over the top Hollywood action flick. epic fail in my view, the story was passable but predictable from about 2 mins in and the first 25 mins was all over the place rubbish. the ending seemed a little B grade and the movie as a whole relied on WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much bass, noise and explosions. funny cos thats usually the sort of thing i love but this was just too much crap.

3/10

Up
(took my kids).
Not sure how to rate it. It was cute, but I missed a big chunk in the middle when I fell asleep. That doesn't say much for it, I guess.

Grand Torino

Clint Eastwood

This movie was really interesting and very well done from many aspects! If you are offended by language (which DID make the point in the movie and the lack of would have made this a much less pointed movie) you won't care for it, but I loved the collision of the eras, the ethnicities and the also subtle conflicts not so obvious. I found it to be a very good movie. (I cried at the end, too!) 9/10

He Just's That Not Into You 10. It was exactly what I was looking for exactly when I needed it. And two of the couples are awesome. We're having girls night tonight and we're going to watch it again. Can't wait. :)

Slumdog Millionaire 8/10 - it was good, really good, but not quite up to it's hype maybe. Hype ruins movies for me I guess. In any case, I would certainly recommend this movie.

Maybe it's a guy thing... and maybe I'm just anal but the name of the car and the name of the movie is actually 'Gran' Torino and it was excellent. I spent a good deal of time riding around in my friends Gran Torino in my high school days.

You are correct in pointing out my mistake. :P I didn't know cars much back then and I sure don't run around spelling them now lol! Thank you kind sir! :)
