Just heard a very interesting interview by Terry Gross of the journalist who won a Pulitzer for his photograph of the horrible desecration of a US soldier who was dragged through the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993.

It was really hard to listen to, but I found it harder to not listen to it. Really powerful interview.

I caught it. I actually sat in a parking lot and made myself late waiting for the show to finish. Really great.

I just listened to the whole interview. Immensely powerful and fascinating.

I haven't seen it, thanks for the tip. Will have to check it out.
Hearing Paul's guilt reminded me of what I've read on Kevin Carter.

I'd read about Carter in the past and that particular picture of the girl and vulture is memorable. It was interesting that Watson mentions that he feels that depressed & misfit people are drawn to this type of photography, rather than that type of photography causing the depression. I can't think it could help, though. There's a link to more info about the documentary on Natchwey in the blog post
