I think this would have been a good idea for the open challenges with one being motivational and the other being de-motivational :)

The previous challenge was run under December Member Challenge Rules!

I'm thinking more in the direction of animal protection, some kind of health protection, war, hunger etc.

is that thinking in the wrong direction? 'cause most of the photo's in the first challenge are about personal strength (believe, imagine, inner strength etc.)

Generally motivational posters are typically intended to be "Self-Motivating" and relating to personal success or endeavors. That said, if you took a great image of someone hugging a tree and titled it "SHOW YOU CARE", it probably has just a good a chance.

Don't listen to Art. He'll probably be use something like this:

Human Combustion

"Doing your part in village burning."

And the wording needs to be changed.
At least, that is, a word needs to be added.
The word ON

"Motivational posters abound in school and in the workplace. Create your own motivational poster. The title should be the text that would appear on the poster."

Does this mean that NO text may be added to your entry and the image title is the text?

Extra Rules: Text is allowed on your submission for this challenge.

This is so wrong... and surprising that a photographer who does such beautiful, motivational work would post a photo that demonstrates one of the last acceptable (to some) form of descrimination.

Hey everone, I'm new to the editing thing and would like some help. I am using Capture NX as a photo editing program. Does anyone know how to add frames etc. or should I be using another program to add the frame once I have edited the photo in Capture?

I know nothing about Capture, but you could try reading Judi's tutorial on borders to see if it helps.

If not I am sure it is doable in Capture, ask again if you can't figure it out and I am sure someone will explain.

People!... motivational does not mean it's a PSA! Got it? :-)

(PSA=Public Service Announcement)

.

I am at work but feel that I should have explained more what I meant when I posted this morning. I will do so when I am back at home.

OK so what does it mean?

As a foreigner I don't think I understand what the challenge means.
