I was messing around with an idea for one of the challenges. I was just doing all sorts of stuff and suddenly I thought "Damn...this looks good. Even if it doesn't do well in the challenge, I'm happy with it." So I tried to go back from scratch and duplicate the shot in a larger size...and for the love of GOD I can't do it. I forgot what it is I did that achieved the affect I got. I've been at this for almost 8 hours, it's now 3am...I'm off to bed. I'm gonna be at it again tomorrow. |

In the psd image that you edited copy all the layers into a folder (you need to make one) then drag them into the larger image. Depending on kind of layers you have you won't be able to copy a stamped layer into the new larger image because it would be like putting a small image on top of a large one but adjustment layers would copy over. Try that.

Sorry...you lost me a bit.
Am I able to retrieve the information from the tiff file I have? Basically, I worked on one tiff file that I converted from RAW. When I got to the end, I saved it. Then I decided later to do more and came out with what I got and saved it as another name. But I've merged all the layers etc down. |

In your PS preferences, do you have the option set to save details of what you do to your images? |

Lisa - I don't have the software with me at the moment, but in PS, choose the Preferences (or Options - can't remember which) and somewhere in there is Save History. Choose "detailed" and to save with the picture. Then when you open the picture in Browse, you can read all the steps you took to edit it. Bear_music will tell you just to work in psd and save those, but I tend to flatten layers and still need the history to know what I did prior to the flattening. Of course, most of my editing is levels, curves, soft light blending mode (if advanced) and sharpen, so it ain't hard for me to recreate anything. :-) |

STEPS
1 - Edit
2 - Preferences
3 - General
4 - Check History Log. Select Metadata, Text or both. Choose where you want this log to be saved so you can find it if you need it.
5 - From the drop down list choose from Sessions Only, Concise or detailed.

A bit of a hint. I have all my images saved by month. So all the August photos are in separate shoot folders under August. Therefore at the turn of the month I will change my Edit Log to become a new log and saved in the new months folder. The previous month gets burnt to DVD with that months work. Makes for easy locating when needed.
