I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for books about photographers that are not really how-to or technical in nature - but more about their lives. Working photographers especially, perhaps in fashion or weddings, about the different people, places and events they experience.
Some of my favorite reads have been those that offer behind the scenes looks into subcultures - usually with a distinctly different view than what is seen from outsiders. For example, Heat (Bill Buford) and Kitchen Confidential (Anthony Bourdain) are highly entertaining reads that delve into (among other things) the world of line cooks in New York's restaurant scene.
John Feinstein's books about golf, such as Open, A Good Walk Spoiled, and Tales From Q School are equally entertaining, although narrative as opposed to a first person view.
Anyone have any insight here on some books that are similar to these in the world of Photography?

Movies & podcasts:
Not quite the same, but 'The Candid Frame' interviews are often good.

Highly recommend this, still shows on HBO|SHO from time to time. Excellent! They hook a small video camera to his camera, seeing what he sees when he shoots is great. Nachtwey is a hero.
