Knowing film has a latitude does anyone know whether digital sensors have latitudes and if so would they be the 7/2 stops as B/W film or would they follow more closely to color film?

I've heard you can get as much as 12 stops out of a good raw file. jpg is said to be a little less than film. just of the top of my head.

4-5 stops is about what the normal digital sensor is capable of.

Here Norman Koren goes on, and on, and on about the subject.

The 12-stop thing was for combining several exposures of one raw file, and the high theoretical limit of that most likely.
