The second part of this rule.....
....use any feature of your camera while photographing your entry, with the exception of combining multiple captures in-camera.
Thank you, that is all.

what you would hate more is getting spanked by ursula in EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE because she's so good with that feature. |

Dose "Multiple Capture" include covering the lens during a long exposure, or does it refer only the shutter closing & opening?

SC can correct me, but I'm pretty sure it's limited to one shutter actuation.

I believe that you can cover the lens as many times as you want as long as it is a SINGLE exposure to achieve your desired shot.
The D200 has an image overlay feature that allows you to do this in camera with multiple shots. There was a huge debate a while back about this feature and SC/D&L created the second part of the rule stated above....
I understand that this can be used to someones advantage as a means of cheating, much like having a bunch of "friends" vote up your challenge entries. I seem to remember that you could shoot a picture of say a blank wall or total blackness and then overlay an older photo taken say a year ago and the older EXIF data is overwritten with the newer info.
I could be wrong here...
My take is this...if you are required to show proof of a shot that is clearly an image overlay, you should be required to submit all the photos that were used to compose the single image. The dates would be verified and you'd be in the clear. OR if it's suspect that the image was older and the EXIF data has been tampered with then SC could take the appropriate measures.
I don't want this to turn into another huge debate I accept the decision that SC has made I just think it sucks that I can't use EVERY feature of my camera...

I hate the dickhead at Calumet Photo who sold me the wrong hotshoe adapter and left me sitting here with two new pocket wizards and no way to use them.
I also hate their lame-ass store hours that keep me from returning this junk in a holy rage right this minute.
Just thought I'd share some additional hate. The thread had grown smarmy. |

I haven't used it yet, though... Guess I'll have to experiment and throw one into my portfolio. |

Try it, you'll like it. Then you'll hate the second part of that rule too.
