Hey guys and gals!

Has anyone ever participated in a photowalk?

//www.photowalking.org/ has more information about it, but it seems like most of the people are in California. I'd love to join them, but I live in Florida. Anyone else live in Florida interested in trying this?

I live in Melbourne, over on the east coast. I don't have any friends who are into photography :( . To my knowledge there are no organized photography groups in the area. I would love to find one though.

The Camera Club of Brevard (linky) meets at the public library. :)

Hi Casey,

I think we talked via PM a while back. I live about 20 minutes from Melbourne and usually do my own solo photowalks; because I seem to be most interested in critters and weeds.

If you were to put something together, I'd do my best to attend. Would enjoy meeting you and other local photographers.

Roxanne,

It wasn't me that you talked to, I just joined the site a couple of weeks ago.

It's good to know that there are others in the area interested in photography! I would like to put something together; I think I'm going to try to attend a Camera Club of Brevard meeting as KaDi suggested and see if they have anything going on. Unfortunately they meet on Wednesday nights at the same time I have to teach a tennis class, but I'll get there eventually.

On kind of the same note, has anyone done any photography at CityWalk in Orlando? I was over there last weekend attending a Classic Albums Live concert and it definitely looks like an interesting place to photograph. I usually don't like being around tons of people, but I need something new to take photos of. I've gotten into a rut with the scenes around my home.

Welcome to DPC! Sorry to have gotten you confused. I'm pretty sure I talked to a person in the aviation field who lives in Melbourne.

You might try starting a GTG in your area. If I could break away, I would attend.

You're welcome! And, hey, welcome to this "club"!
I enjoy being a member of my local club and hope you will have a chance to check out the one near you. Our club organizes plenty of outings in addition to the regular meetings and competitions. It's a great way to get to know people who like to get out and look around at the world through a lens. They're also a lot more tolerant than family and friends when you stop for a few minutes to take a shot or two or ten...with a tripod...and a lens change...while you wait for the light to be perfect... ;-)

Recently, yes, and we certainly covered the exercise part. :P

Anyone in NH interested in a waterfall GTG?

I'm in California and I would say that I do this for about 75% of my challenge entries. Most recently:

. .

I normally go at it alone. I feel I can move faster and go into places/situations where a group of co-walkers could hinder these efforts. However, having said that, I would love to "photowalk" with fellow DPCers during a GTG.
