I have been talking to my family, they might follow me, Im beginning to think about moving Inland, away from this city and Island, I see FEMA agents going door to door trying to get people to buy FLOOD INSURANCE !! My predictions are coming true, I don't want to sound crazy, but I dream of floods often, and Im writing a book about Weather Manipulation right now. Florida is definite, I know florida is history, China, im not so sure about.

I want to see this so-called AL Gore map. Does anyone know where to find it?
08/13/2007 11:33:00 PM · #58
I heard Rush taking about the record tempretures that we are seeing and he claims the weather report are somewaht flawed aqnd the 2006 record was adjusted and the record highs are in the 1930's during the dust bowl years, if you get all worked up when someone starts spouting off and claiming the end of the world remember there has always been a guy running around town with a sign saying the end is near, Gore just has a fancier sign!

I know that he said 2015 and then showed a computer generated map of Florida, San Fransisco and China flooding. The youtube segments I watched briefly are not complete.

At any rate, Al Gore has a very small carbon footprint and he conserves enough for more than himself. He only burns 22,619 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, and he uses "green" electricity, so he saves enough energy for a couple of us. He has very noble intentions, I just don't like his scare tactics that he uses to try and sell his DVD and books.

That's saying a lot seeing as a little while ago you knew he was on Oprah a few days ago instead of 2006...

Well, I guess that's a possibility I didn't consider. I'll grant him that. However, unless he can show me a clip where he says "2015" I don't believe him.

Haha, in an attempt to even find something that talks about 2015 I googled "Gore 2015". This very thread is already #3 on the list. I didn't see anything else in the Top 10 that was relevant. More evidence to say he never said it...

Googled 2015 Al Gore #1 on list "Information superhighway 2015" just thought that was funny!
08/13/2007 11:59:41 PM · #66
If you google 2015 Al Gore, he uses 2015 for several issues, bizzare! He must have used 2015 for some enviromental issue, Jay Leno and Saturday night live have done skits using that date, I would love to see the show to see what exactly he said.

I am really not worried as I said before he is just another end of world sign guy, he just has a fancy sign!

Well there's your proof! :P

Seriously though if you search for "Oprah Winfrey transcripts" you would find out that they are not available for public viewing. You have to purchase them on her website so Google sure hell isn't able to index that content.

I figured that if someone like Gore, who has lots of people happy to poke fun at him, said in 2006, "Florida will be underwater in 2015" there would be plenty of blogs and other things available of people pointing out what an idiot he was. Apparently this thread is the nexus of the "Al's an idiot" universe.

Well first there must exist an Oprah watcher who also likes posting about politics on the web. Personally, I didn't think that person existed but this thread proved otherwise.

The Oprah show was repeated last week and yes he said 'in the next 10 years' which would be 2015 based on when it originally aired. It is sad that Al Gore is the front man for this cause, it is legit but he has lost so much credibility it really takes away from the message.

I remember back in the early 70's the latest crisis was over population. Studies were published on how by the year 2000 the avg human would have 3 ft sqaure of space. Don't see that happening yet, what happened to all of those studies and scientist?

Yes there are people committed to global warming, but they aren't doing out of the goodness of their heart, it is their job. Without crisis and panic there are no funds.

Yep, that is what I was thinking. This was the map he was showing at the time if I remember.

Just so everybody knows however I am not trying to bash Al Gore. I admire people that really are trying to be responsible with the materials that they have been given. I have no problem saving energy and driving electric cars, I am a huge supporter of that. However, he is trying to freak people out to make money however, and that is where I think there is something wrong with what he is doing.

Oprah asks "what can we do about this?" and Gore says, "buy the DVD".

I hope to be one of the remaining 1/4 of the population. At least then i would have a better chance of winning a DPC Challenge!

I found a good rock to hide under, so hopefully I can get second place! And remember that is December 21st 2012... and you can google that.

Yes, Gore has made some silly claims in the past. So what? Have you ever made a mistake? Does that mean everyone should ignore everything you say forever?

But you know what? Ignore him and just pay attention to the thousands, yes, THOUSANDS of scientists across the planet that agree with him.

And for the record, there's plenty of ice on Greenland and Antarctica to raise sea levels well beyond three feet.

But I'm guessing those of you who so flippantly dismiss it aren't troubled by things like facts, so I'll just set this thread to ignore.

30 years ago (mid 70s) the big scientific fears were:
an iminent ice age - yes, the earth was cooling.
no more fossil fuels - we'd run dry by the year 2000.
the hole in the ozone layer was going to cook us all and we'd all die of skin cancer.

Hmm, now the earth is warming.
we still have oil. using lots more of it than we did 30 years ago too.
the ozone hole is pretty much gone. and we have SPF 50 just in case.

We aren't ignoring 'facts' but asking for proof that they are indeed 'facts' and not some form or manipulation of the masses.

al gore is just bored, why doesn't he just retire and get fat instead of attempting to scare people?
