am i the only one?

I just spent 30 minutes dodging and burning some lovely clouds only to remember that it was for a basic editing challenge!
Shut Photoshop for the day and i'll return when i get over my own stupidity.
Anyone else done this or is it jut me?

I've dodged some issues and burned some bridges. Does that count?

At least you noticed *before* you actually entered!

I think mr problemwas that i got a couple of shots today. speed challenge edited under advanced and then i went straight onto the basic.
And as my wife tells me, i can't (and shouldn't) do 2 things at once.

This made me think, I am here at dpc for more than 1 and half year and never used dodging and burning. I must give it a try some day.

I recommend learning non-permanent techniques instead. There are a million ways to change lighting and brightness using adjustment layers and other tricks without permanently changing the image data.
For example, check out this tutorial.

But to answer the original question, yes! :) In fact, I even panicked one time because I'd used advanced editing techniques on an open challenge entry until I remembered it was one of the rare times that editing was allowed.

Thanks for this. The main reason I did not try stuff was I did not have CS2 or CS3. Now I have CS2 so I am looking forward to learning.
Will be doing the tutorials.
