Hi, I'm in the process of re-vamping my website. Right now I'm trying to integrate Slideshow Pro. It doesn't look great yet, for now I just need to know whether it works on other systems. Could you please visit
//gloda.net and
//gloda.net/20070812-streetartnimation
and tell me whether the slideshow displays.
Thank you.

Yep, it displays for me. WinXP/SP2.0, FF 2.0.0.6. One thing that might be good if you can avoid it is the little clock appearing during image loads. It takes away from the smoothness of the presentation.

Wonderful images, BTW.

Hi there
It is showing for me. Firefox 2.0.0.6 for mac. The slide transition is quite slow however. I don't know if that is a set up issue, or my connection :)
Hope it helps.

Kirbic, the transition animation should be gone now. You might have to clear your cache first.
salmiakki, images display for 4 seconds, the transition takes 2 seconds. Should I speed the transition up?
Thanks to those who testes it so far.

Someone using IE maybe?

Works in IE and Fx. It's not the transitions that are slow but the display. Probably be best not to have a set time for the image to display and just let people click through as what is too short and too long will vary widely.

You may want to look at speeding them up, because I wasn't immediately aware it was supposed to be a slideshow! (Other than you had posted that it was) Maybe 1 sec transition and 2 secs display?

Also working on IE 6.0. Transition animation is gone. I like the pace of the presentation and transition. It works well for this image series. The transition may be a *little* slow for some subject material.

works in Firefox 2.0
Running Windows XP Media Center

Ok, it seems to run on most machines. The navigation seems to be contra-intuitive, if users like technoshroom who want to browse it manually don't immediately notice you can click on the numbers to browse the gallery. Maybe it makes more sense once thumbnails pop up when you hover over the numbers.

Firefox 2.0.0.6 and IE 7.0.5730.11 on XP running ok.

No, I think that part is easy to get. I do think that it shouldn't start without some sort of user interaction though. I for one don't want to be looking at an image and have it change on me. If I clicked on a start slideshow link that would be different, I'd expect it. A setting to control the speed would be nice. I would also like to see the back button function properly. It should go to the last image viewed. This sort of normal functionality is often broken with Flash applications. Just poor design that can be fixed if the developer wanted.

Sorta agree with T-Shroom... I too would rather have control of whether to watch slideshow or click thru. You have the numbers listed above...why not just add one called "slideshow" where the viewer, should he/she/me/we want to view it that way can do so...or not.

When we KNOW it is a slideshow, the transition time is probably moot unless it is extensive. One second is great, 2 would be okay!

By the way... nice website and excellent shots!!

Okay, I understand what you guys mean. I think for the normal blog entries I'll disable the autorun feature, so that if you still want to make it a slideshow you can click on the play button in the lower right hand corner.
For what concerns the Back feature, I like it this way, it's browsing through blog entries and pages on the site rather than pictures. A matter of taste, I guess.

Are there only supposed to be 8 entries? On my browser it show a slide show of 8 then stops. At the bottom of the display window it shows there are more pictures but you can not access them. Nice images BTW nice colors and comp.

Works okay for me, Vista Home Premium and IE 7? I think :))

fir3bird, I don't know what that could be, the numbers you see at the bottom are correct. Maybe try forcing a reload (CTRL+F5).
